Broadcast antenna systems provider Dielectric Communications, a division of SPX, has appointed Garrett VanAtta as the company's vice president and general manager. In his new role, VanAtta will oversee Dielectric's development and manufacture of systems for radio, mobile media, and television broadcasting. VanAtta, who has held upper management positions within SPX since 2001, has been promoted from his previous role as vice president of operations for Dielectric.

"Garrett has shown the leadership skills and business acumen necessary for his new assignment, and we look forward to seeing Dielectric continue to grow under his guidance. We're excited to witness his positive influence on the company as Dielectric leverages its position as an industry leader and refines strategies for the new markets ahead," said Lee Powell, SPX's segment president for industrial products and services.

In his new position of vice president and general manager, VanAtta will report directly to Powell.

"This is an exciting time in the communications industry with the roll-out of digital television, radio, and mobile media networks. I look forward to my expanded role and to our continued successes within these markets," said VanAtta. "We have a dedicated team that is fully engaged in helping our customers achieve their build-outs successfully."

David Wilson, Dielectric's former president, has been promoted to the role of vice president of global aftermarket sales and marketing for SPX Service Solutions.
